As part of the Contracts Sales, you will take responsibility for managing and developing contract accounts, overseeing project delivery performance, and driving profitable growth within the contracts division. With a strong focus on commercial management, relationship development, and operational efficiency, you will work closely with senior leadership to identify new project opportunities, secure large-scale contracts, and ensure exceptional service delivery from enquiry through to completion. This role is ideal for a results-driven individual with strong leadership and commercial skills who thrives in a fast-paced, project-led environment. Lead and manage the contracts division, ensuring profitable growth and achievement of sales and margin targets. Develop and maintain strong relationships with contractors, developers, housing associations, and commercial clients to secure repeat and new business. Identify, negotiate, and secure new contract opportunities within the plumbing and heating sector. Oversee project quotations, tenders, pricing structures, and contractual terms to ensure competitiveness while protecting margin. Monitor project progress, delivery schedules, and account performance to ensure service excellence and customer satisfaction. Work closely with branch, purchasing, and operations teams to ensure stock availability and smooth project fulfilment. Review and analyse KPIs, sales figures, and contract profitability, implementing strategies to improve performance. Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and contractual obligations. Support, mentor, and develop any contracts or project support team members as the division grows. Proven experience in a Contracts Manager, Project Manager, or senior sales role within a plumbers’ merchant, builders’ merchant, or related trade environment. Strong commercial acumen with experience managing large accounts, tenders, and project-based sales. Demonstrable ability to negotiate contracts and build long-term business partnerships. Solid understanding of margins, pricing strategies, and financial performance management. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple live projects simultaneously. Strong IT and systems literacy, including experience with merchant systems, CRM platforms, and reporting tools. Desirable: Knowledge of plumbing and heating products and contract supply processes. A competitive salary package, negotiable depending on experience.
