Key Account Manager
This is a commercially focused position responsible for driving growth within a defined customer sector, developing new opportunities, increasing product penetration and improving profitability across key accounts.
The successful candidate will take ownership of strategic customer relationships, developing tailored account plans and ensuring delivery against agreed commercial objectives. Accurate recording of customer interactions through internal systems will be required, along with providing valuable customer insight to support wider regional and divisional strategy. The role will also involve close collaboration with branch and operational teams to deliver a seamless, high-quality service experience.
• £50-55k Basic Salary (DOE) + Up to 25% bonus

• Growing and protecting account performance through cross-selling opportunities, increasing product penetration and influencing purchasing behaviour
• Delivering against agreed sales targets and KPIs while contributing to wider divisional performance goals
• Improving account profitability through effective commercial negotiation and encouraging more commercially beneficial product mixes
• Working closely with branch, trading and inventory teams to ensure customer requirements, project orders and specialist requests are delivered efficiently
• Sharing market insight and identifying opportunities to support regional initiatives and promotional activity
• A proven ability to engage and sell successfully at Director, Managing Director and Board level
• A consistent track record of delivering against sales budgets, targets and commercial objectives
• A customer-focused mindset with a strong understanding of sales and operational processes
• Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
• Strong listening skills and a motivated, results-oriented approach
• Good organisational and planning ability, with a structured approach to problem-solving and decision-making
• Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience using web-based CRM platforms would be advantageous
• A full UK driving licence, as the role involves significant regional travel
