Job Title: Preparation Sander – Joinery

Location: South London
Pay Rate: £14–£15 per hour (dependent on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, Full-Time

 

About the Role

My client is looking for a skilled Preparation Sander to join a busy workshop specialising in joinery. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail and take pride in producing flawless finishes.

You will be responsible for preparing joinery components prior to painting, ensuring surfaces are perfectly smooth and ready for finishing.

 
 
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Hand and machine sanding of joinery components

  • Preparing doors, panels, cabinets, and mouldings for painting

  • Filling, de-nibbing, and flatting between coats

  • Inspecting surfaces and correcting imperfections

  • Maintaining a clean and organised work area

  • Following health & safety and workshop procedures

  • Working to deadlines while maintaining quality standards

 
Requirements / Skills:

  • Previous experience sanding/prepping joinery

  • Strong attention to detail and surface quality

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Comfortable using hand tools, orbital sanders, and extraction systems

  • Reliable, punctual, and quality-focused
