Operations Manager

KBB Recruitment are pleased to be working with our client in their search for an experienced Operations Manager, based in Dorset.


About Our Client

Our client is a long-established, family-run business with over 25 years of experience in designing and manufacturing high-quality, handmade kitchens. With showrooms in both Christchurch (Dorset) and Esher (Surrey), they pride themselves on exceptional craftsmanship and outstanding customer service, supplying bespoke kitchens to customers across England and Wales.


Role Summary

Reporting directly to the Directors, the Operations Manager will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations across this busy retail and manufacturing business. The role includes responsibility for a team of 17 staff across two showrooms, a design office, and an operations office.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure sales levels are maintained to keep the workshop running at full capacity.
  • Maintain sufficient staffing levels to guarantee excellent customer service.
  • Monitor and review team performance, providing training, coaching, and feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure full legal and regulatory compliance across the business.
  • Manage and further develop the After Sales process to uphold excellent customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee Health & Safety compliance and ensure company policies are followed.
  • Allocate resources effectively to meet business objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure products and services meet the highest standards.
  • Track and analyse KPIs, identifying opportunities for improvement and cost efficiencies.
  • Lead initiatives to improve customer service quality and satisfaction.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices to enhance business operations.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and productivity through effective communication and leadership.

Working Hours

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard hours when required by the business.
