Internal Sales Assistant – Electrical Wholesale

Working Hours:

  • Week 1: Monday to Friday – 07:30 to 17:00
  • Week 2: Monday to Friday – 07:30 to 17:00, Saturday – 08:00 to 12:00

Simon Acres Group are hiring on behalf of a well-established and expanding electrical wholesale business based in Gloucestershire. We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Internal Sales Assistant to join a busy branch team and contribute to continued sales growth and excellent service delivery.

The Role

In this position, you will support trade customers, coordinate with the external sales team, and help drive branch performance through proactive sales engagement and in-depth product knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high levels of service and support to trade customers
  • Provide product advice and guidance on electrical goods and supplies
  • Proactively follow up on quotations and manage incoming enquiries
  • Use telephone and linked selling techniques to promote products and maximise order values
  • Process special orders, coordinating with suppliers and logistics teams to meet delivery expectations
  • Address customer concerns, credit queries, and complaints professionally and promptly
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the sales area, ensuring up-to-date product displays and literature
  • Support external sales representatives with internal coordination and follow-ups
  • Monitor competitor activity and market developments
  • Assist with basic site surveys and quantity take-offs when required
  • Ensure all documentation and processes are completed accurately and efficiently

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience in an internal sales or trade counter role within an electrical wholesale setting is essential
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • A proactive and commercially aware approach to sales
  • Confident on the phone and capable of building strong customer relationships
  • Basic technical knowledge and ability to interpret plans is desirable
  • A full UK driving licence is advantageous
  • Any relevant customer service or product-specific training is beneficial
